Sprint's had a rocky few years. Sprint's done a pretty good job of expanding its coverage and speeding up its service in metro areas over the past few years, but it still ranks behind other major providers for coverage, speed, and customer service. And when the customers choose price over quality(Walmart is a prime example), the companies will usually control costs by cutting customer service(which is expensive due to labor costs).

Since I had no time to figure my new Blackberry out before my trip, I had no idea how to dial 411 from China to get a number for Hertz to make a reservation, so I call Sprint customer service” to see if someone could tell me how to dial information in the US. I was explaining to the Sprint customer service” woman on the phone that I was in China trying to reach Hertz Rental Car, and the woman yelled we are not a travel service”!, and hung up on me.

This is where government can actually foster competition and free enterprise, rather than stifle it. When near-oligopolic conditions exist, new entrants aren't able to come in and offer a better product - in this case, a phone carrier with decent customer service.

1 line has a broke phone which will be upgradeable in 7 months so rather than spend unnecessary money we would like to jus upgrade the phone by paying it off and sprint give us the credits due so we can move on to a new phn undrr a new lease agreement which to me would be the best moving forward and financially sound so im not wasting resources.

It's a shame that the company can't look back to the September of 2005, when it went well out of its way to accomodate customers and non-customers alike, as a model for how customer service should be.

The initial call took over 2 hours where they promised me I could get the 2 new phones plus a free” tablet for way less than I was paying now under the Unlimited Freedom Plan”. Im' still facing this old bill, so i say screw it i'll pay it. it took two weeks to first FIND it, and then credit it. so i do everything they ask, time comes, and they are like "oh, your sprint bill is a collection account, you must pay $250".

People generally like Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, and AT&T until they have to talk to them. I thought Sprint's customer service was on the mend but your story suggests that things are as bad as ever. Sprint sits with AT&T at the very bottom of Consumer Reports' service and reliability ratings for 20 cellular providers, while T-Mobile is rated the best out of the current big four.

And still, Sprint is bleeding out post-paid customers. T-Mobile CEO John Legere will keep his title, and Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure will serve on the board of the new company. With Sprint, you can enjoy a bit more wiggle room on your data usage throughout the month.
